A banal man-made religion made up of pie-in-the-sky hopes for transcendence by believing that one is "saved" by believing in the "resurrection of Jesus" (whatever that means), and that one will be bodily "resurrected" (whatever that means) when Jesus comes again-seems like a concise description of Christian-ism to me.
Especially the "catholic" version which pretends that it alone provides the whatever for salvation - whatever that means.
Transhumanism obviously sucks but in this time and place one of the last places you find the Truth about the human condition and of Reality Itself is within the walls of the historically dominant world religions, especially Christian-ism, Judaism and Islam-ism
Wow, this comment had absolutely nothing to do with the essay topic. Your ideas here betray a pathetic nihilism that seeks to tear down than to build up.
Meg, You must be doing something right if you have these little God-less weasels mad at you. Keep up the Good work!
You know, Johnny, when I look at Jonathan through the eyes of the heart, I see someone who needs an experience of love and goodness. I don't see a weasel, I see someone who is deeply loved by a Father I hope he will one day meet. And if he's God-less, well, perhaps that's because the Church that he rails against has never adequately demonstrated that kind of love to him. In fact, looking a bit deeper, it's likely the case that it may have wounded him somewhere along the way. My heart is to be one who reflects that love to him, rather than one who rejects and wounds him further. That's all we can do. I have no enemies except one, and arguing on the internet does not, I believe, demonstrate the love of the Father.
And how did this poor wounded Soul gather all that from "You're entitled to your opinion-Thanks for reading?" These knuckleheads aren't persuaded by "pie-in-the-sky" platitudes. They are here to destroy; they hate the likes of you and all other Christians. This is spiritual War-look around. Churches are crumbling and burning, christians are being imprisoned and murdered, exorcisms are way up, and the fifth column is alive and well. We are called the Church militant for a reason and Im fighting back. That's on my heart. But since this is your space here, I'll wish you well.
Well, since our battle isn’t against flesh and blood, but principalities and powers in the spiritual realm, I don’t see people as the enemy.
I guess I just know that it’s not all up to me. My job is to embody the love of God. I speak to explain when necessary and when I believe it will be heard. I didn’t determine words were what was necessary at that point. I’m sure Jesus’ responses often looked like weakness too, but He knew who he was really fighting, and what were his methods of warfare. They’re different from the rest of the world’s.

Hi Jonathan -- You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Take care and thanks for reading.
