First, let me say a big “thank you” to all of you as faithful Missives from the Edge readers. Dialoguing with you in the comments section and reading about who you are in your profiles is a very fulfilling part of writing this Substack. Thank you for your faith in me, especially during the unplanned hiatus of these past few weeks. Your subscription is something I don’t take for granted, as I endeavour to give you the best quality writing that I hope serves my audience and provides something valuable to the world as well.
As I’ve been gathering interviews and reflecting on where I’m heading next—towards better voices to displace the Wormtongue voice, I realize that I need to take a month or so off to regroup and create a backlog of pieces so that I’m not always behind the eight-ball of a (self-imposed) deadline, trying to get a piece out to you in a timely fashion. So toward that end, you can expect to begin receiving new Missives starting in early August.
I want to add an especially big welcome to all of you who are new readers or have recently subscribed, and may be wondering why you haven’t received your first Missive. There will be a short hiatus, and then you’ll begin to see new essays, interviews, more journalistic-style feature profiles and other new content. Thanks especially to you, as new subscribers, for hanging in there with me during this time.
As always, please make sure to add megmittelstedt@substack.com to your safe emails list so that Missives are sure to make it to your inbox.
Enjoy July—I look forward to reconvening with you all in August!
Sincerely,
Meg Mittelstedt
